Before You Ship

What you can't ship

These items are prohibited by law or by our shipping terms. This list is not exhaustive and can change, so if you're unsure about something, ask us before you book.

Never allowed

These items cannot be shipped under any circumstances, on any route.

  • Cash, banknotes, coins, and traveller's cheques
  • Illegal drugs and narcotics, including cannabis, CBD, and marijuana products, even where legal at origin or destination
  • Firearms, ammunition, explosives, and replicas, including tasers and air guns
  • Counterfeit goods, fake currency, and counterfeit documents such as fake passports or ID cards
  • Human remains or ashes
  • Live animals, insects, or animal parts such as ivory or shark fin
  • Pornographic material

Hazardous and dangerous goods

Items that pose a safety risk in transit, by air, sea, or road.

  • Flammable, corrosive, or compressed-gas items, including aerosols, lighters, and dry ice
  • Lithium batteries shipped loose. They must be installed in the device they power
  • Bladed items and offensive weapons
  • Poisons and toxic chemicals

Restricted: ship only with approval

We can sometimes carry these with the right documentation. Ask us first.

  • Prescription medication and other pharmaceuticals
  • Alcohol and tobacco products
  • Drones and related equipment
  • High-value jewellery, watches, and precious stones. Contact us first so we can arrange the right insurance
  • Used vehicle parts and engines. These must be professionally cleaned and drained of fluids before shipping

Electronics: a few things to know

Relevant if you're using our Procurement or Freight Forwarding services.

  • Batteries must be installed in the device, not shipped loose or separately
  • Tell us if you're shipping several phones, laptops, or power banks in one go. Some carriers cap the quantity per shipment
  • Declare items correctly. Personal-use quantities and commercial/resale quantities are treated differently

Rules vary by country

What's allowed can depend on both where your shipment starts and where it's going, and on the carrier handling that leg of the journey. Something accepted in the US might be restricted in the UK, and the reverse is just as true. If you're shipping anything unusual, confirm with us first rather than finding out at customs.
