Overview

What is Car Shipping?

Importing a vehicle from the USA to Nigeria involves more than just shipping — it requires sourcing, export documentation, ocean freight booking, NCS customs clearance, CAIN inspection, and final delivery. We handle the entire process so you don't have to navigate it alone.

Whether you're buying at Copart, IAAI, Manheim, or a private dealer, we can assist with the purchase, arrange RoRo (Roll-on Roll-off) or container shipping, and deliver the vehicle anywhere in Nigeria.

RoRo is typically cheaper and is suitable for vehicles in good running condition. Container shipping provides extra protection and is better for high-value or non-running vehicles.

How It Works

Step-by-step process

Here's exactly what happens from the moment you contact us to the moment your goods are delivered.

01

Choose Your Vehicle

Buy at an auction (Copart, IAAI, Manheim) or from a dealer. We can assist with sourcing if needed.

02

Title & Export Documents

We obtain the export title and clear any liens on the vehicle — required before shipping.

03

Port Pickup & Loading

We arrange transportation of the vehicle to the US port and book it on the next available RoRo vessel or container.

04

Ocean Transit

The vehicle crosses the Atlantic — typically 4–6 weeks from departure.

05

CAIN Inspection & Customs

We coordinate the CAIN/SGS inspection at the port and complete full NCS customs clearance, paying applicable levies.

06

Delivery to You

Your vehicle is driven or trucked to your location in Nigeria and handed over with all documentation.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

What year of vehicle can I import?+

Nigeria allows importation of vehicles up to 12 years old from year of manufacture. Newer is always preferable for lower duty.

RoRo vs Container — which is better?+

RoRo is cheaper and faster. Container provides more protection and allows you to put goods inside the car. For high-value vehicles, we recommend container.

What duties do I pay?+

Import duties on vehicles are based on CIF value and engine size, and can range from 35–70% of the vehicle value. We give you a duty estimate before you commit.

Can I put items inside the car during shipping?+

Only with container shipping. RoRo vessels prohibit cargo inside vehicles.
